Travel Clinic

If you are planning on travelling abroad you should aim to arrange a Travel Clinic appointment with the Practice Nurse in plenty of time, ideally at least 8 weeks before you are due to travel.  Our receptionist will ask you the country and continent you are travelling to at the time of booking.  The Practice Nurse will then contact you to arrange an appointment.

Patients are advised to carry out their own research into the vaccinations they need and when they are needed by, by visiting NHS 111 Wales - Health A-Z : Travel vaccinations. The surgery does not usually keep a stock of all travel vaccines, so they may need to be ordered in for you, which can take some time and you may have to pay for them. The nurse will discuss this with you at your first Travel Clinic appointment, but it is advisable to bring some cash with you on the day so that we can order the required vaccinations for you straight away if needed.

If you have less than 8 weeks until the day of travel it may be better for you to get your vaccinations done at a private travel clinic or pharmacy with a travel vaccination service.
